Overlapping Geese No. 2

Overlapping Geese is a multifaceted modern traditionalist design, a new interpretation of the flying geese block that is also a variation of traditional chevron and herringbone designs, where the ends of what would have been parallelograms or rectangles respectively have been cut at different angles for a much different effect.

This grayscale version plays with contrast using value and texture. When viewed up close it is rich with the details of over 80 fabrics, but from afar the details melt away to show gradations in value and nuanced variations in texture that flow within and between the columns of overlapping geese, punctuated by areas of stark contrast.
